PARK CLUB
At a meeting of, the committee of the Park Club last'night, Mr. F. Quin referred to the laying out iof Jhe front portion of the green with flowering shrubs, etc., and said -tbat Mr. 0. Goodson had. not only given a large number, of well-grown plants, but had personally superintended transplanting ! operations. The result was a most pleasing one, as the rhododendrons and azaleas were so carefully moved ti,at they were now coming out in full bloom.—As a slight token of their ap- - preciatioii, the committee unanimousIly elected Mr. Goodson an honorary member of the club. * Attention was drawn to the state of I j the live hedge planted by the Borough \ Council .bounding the Technical School I property, and it was resolved that the '■ council be written to pointing out that . unless the shrubs were weeded at once ! the whole of the expenditure on this work would be wasted. I The president (Mr. J. M. Westaway) promised to present the club with trophies in the form. of silver ferns for rink competition on —A hearty vote of thanks i was passed, and the hope was exX pressed that some other member would I: follow Mr. Westaway's example, and - present trophies for Saturday's play. i\ Fesiries o+her business transacted, 5; several new meTibers wre elected and . arrangements made for the opening day, 18th instant.
