NORMANBY CASE
(By Telegraph.—Special to Star.) WELLINGTON, Oct. 5. The Public Petitions Committee has recommended to the Governnient's favourable consideration the petition of John Duggan (Normanby), who claimed a_ refund of a fine paid to the Commissioner of Stamps on a memoranda of transfer of title. It was explained to the House by Mr. Dixon that the case was very deserving, the petitioner hay- j ing made proper provision for payment j in adequate time. He was not respon- J sible for the delay which resulted in [ the fines being imposed. j
