PERSONAL ITEMS.

The death occurred yesterday of Mr. George C. King at his residence on the Ihaia Road, Oounake, at the age of 68 years. The "late Mr. King was a well-known settler in the dis° trict, where he had resided for many years. He is survived by his widow and a grown-up family. Mr; W. A. G. Skinner has been appointed Government Printer in succession to Mr. Marcus Carks, who retires from the service at the end of the month. The new head of the Government Printing Office was born at New Plymouth in 1865, but early went to Wellington. On leaving school he was engaged as a reader boy in the Govern, ment Printing Office, commencing there in 1879.
