ALTON (6) v. OKAIAWA (9;

The above teams met on the Okaiawa | ground. The game was fairly even, thougn on th*. scores the home team was rather lucky to win, scoring a try and two penalty goals to two tries. An : Alton player very nearly potted a goal for his side, the ball just falling short. For Okaiawa Rangi kicked a penalty goal, and Tuki kicked a goal and scored ' a try. For Alton Corna'all ynd Hodge ■ scored a try each. Mr. Jas. Johnstone coutrolled the game. At Patea the Tatea juniors defeated Kaponga by 6 points to 3. Opunake were unable to get a team to Hawera, and consequently were obliged to forfeit to the local team.
