OLD BOYS (11) BEAT INGLEWOOD
A fairly evenly contested game was the fixture at Inglewood, but Old Boys' erratic passing was responsible for throwing away several good chances to score. From a penalty in the first spell, Doyle landed a good"" goal for Old Boys, while Coutts, for Inglewood, also kicked a very fine goal. In the second spell, Inglewood were first to score, Burkart forcing his way over after a forward rush, and Coutts converted. Then Old Boys asserted them selves, and after several good passing rushes Bertrand scored a pretty try .- nd Dolye converted. Just on the call <r time Doyle, with a great penalty k ck, scored a very fine goal, and. the game ended just afterwards, leaving Old Boys victors by a margin of 3 points. Mr J. H. Thompson was rereree. ,
