RATS AND MICE.

GRAIN AREAS RAVAGED,

BY CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT

(Received April 29, 9.5 a.m.) SYDNEY, April 29. The ravages in the grain areas are not confined to mice. In some districts rats, which, during recent years, have spread rapidly from the coast inland and are still pushing out in increasing numbers, are adding greatly to the havoc of wheatfield stacks. Complaint is made that the use of poison in destroying the rabbit has led to the destruction of the natural enemies of mice and rats, and permitted their abnormal increase.
