TARIFF RECIPROCITY.

MELBOURNE, April 12, Details of the tariff agreement between New Zealand and Australia will not be disclosed till placed before the respective Parliaments. A separate agreement made in the interests of the merchant community of each country is also embodied in the main agreement. It entitled goods transhipped from the Commonwealth to British preferential tariff provided they are entitled to the same if imported direct to New Zealand and vice versa. Steps will be taken to bring this provision into operation on May 1.
