On the sixth anniversary of the battle of Verdun there was a touching ceremony at the Invalides.
General Petain remitted flags of regiments disbanded since the armistice. The trophies numbered three hundred, being brought by guards of honour from all parts of France. There was a great gathering of soldiers desirous of saluting the emblems before they were placed in the sanctuary where Napoleon reposes.
