IRELAND
RESTORATION OF THE KINGDOM
URGED.
LORD DUNRAVEN'S PROPOSAL
BY CABLE—rEESS ASSOCIATION—COPYBIGHI
(Times Service.)' Received Sept. 12/1.55 p. m. LONDON. Sept. 11. Lord Dunraven. in a letter to the Times, urges _ the restoration of the former status of the Kingdom of Ireland tinder the British Crown as preferable to a Dominion status, which politically expresses a material growth of Empire, but does not meet Ireland's case, which was never a colony and therefore is not an Imperial entity. On . the other hand, Ireland has ever protested against the deprivation of the fowner status of a kingdom and constitution. Lord Dunraven thinks that Sinn Fein's acknowledgment that the two islands are closely" linked by phy- ~ «ical and historical acts would make a satisfactory arrangement on these lines, which would not be'difficult of attainment and would meet some of the idealist objections to the present proposals.
