PACIFIC PEACE.

JAPANESE ALLIANCE

(Reuter Service.) Received Sept. 12 9.10 a.m

OTTAWA, Sept. 10. Mr. Massey, speaking at the Canadian Club, Vancouver, advocated that the next Imperial Conference be held at Vancouver, because of the vast distance he had been compelled to travel. He defended the Japanese treaty, and declared that the best assurance of Pacific peace was the retention of this alliance* because if the British Empire discarded Japan other world Powers would be ready to accept her as an ally.
