! New- Plymouth High School were too j good for the local boys on the Hawera . show grounds, and won a good match jby a margin of 8 points. The strong wind somewhat spoiled play, and Ha- | wera, pressing hard, had New Ply- : mo\ith in. their own territory the whole •of the first spell, but could not cross the line. The visitors in the sacond i spell opened out play, and at once had Hawera defending vigorously till D. Ward landed a nice goal from a penalty. Shortly afterwards Mauri secured and, after a good run, scored a try, which D. Ward converted. There was no further score.
