WOOL, SKIN AND HIDE SALE.
Messrs Murray, Roberts and Co., "Wellington, report: We submitted 2800 sheepskins and 700 hides and calfskins at Friday's sale to the usual attend-i ance of buyers. The market was about par for dry skins, while prices for salted showed an advance of from Id to 3d per -ekin over last sale's rates. In hides bidding was fairly brisk, and 'l the market showed a hardening tenI dency. Yearling and kip were in good j demand at improved prices. There I was keen competition • for calfskins, ! which advanced from Id to 2d in light and medium weights, and up to 3d for heavy weights.
