! Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the sth instant: Frozen Meat —Demand rather better. Lamb — Market .very firm; stocks almost .exhausted. Frozen Mutton —There are considerable stale stocks, for which prices are declining, but new season scarce and firm. New Zealand prime crossbred mutton BAd per lb. Beef — ( Poor demand ; supplies plentiful. New j Zealand prime ox beef fores 4d, hind-; quarters sid, Australian prime ox beef i fores 3-Jd, hindquarters s£d. Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., j report having received the following > cablegram from- their London house ; under date of the 6th instant: Butter —Market very weak and irregular. Danish 1955.. Government has reduced price for their stock. New Zealand 1925, Australian 186s, third grade 1765. ! Substantial further reduction in price will probably have to be made before stock finally cleared. There are still large quantities of Government butter remaining in buyers' hands unsold, j Cheese —Temporary shortage-continues. ' Present quotations for New Zealand: Coloured 156s to 1625, white" 138s to 1445. I Messrs Dalgety and Company, Ltd., ' report having received the following cablegram from their London house under date of the 7th instant: "Wool sales continued active; competition is brisk, and buying is general from all quarters, except America. Merinos show hardening tendency. Wools suitable for carbonising, fair demand from Fiance and Germany. As compared with last sale's closing rates, .crossbred 50's and above 10 per cent dearer, below 50's o per cent dearer. B.A.W.R.A. ! and. free catalogues are being well cleared. j
