(BY TELEGRAPH PRKSS ASSOCIATION > AUCKLAND, May 10. A young man named Clarence Lorigan was arrested in Auckland this morning on a charge of having stolen a motor car at Hastings last Monday. On the date stated trotting races were held at Hastings, and a motor car which had been left among others unattended outside the racecourse was d"yen away Dv some unauthorised persons. It was subsequently *found' capsized by the roadside in the Taradale district, and a youth was under the capsized car, not a great deal the worse for the experience. According to his story, he had been invited by some other youths, who were somewhat merry, to have a ride, and when the accident haopened the others went off, leaving him cooped up. Lorigan is suspected of having been concerned in taking the car from the racecourse for the joy-ride.
