Sir.—l am of the opinion that the> above school committee in their zeal forthe education of the school children, by hot allowing the school to be closed?' for the second day of the Hawera Show,. lost sight of the educational" advantages -• to the chUdren that would have beenderived by their seeing the exhibits • themselves. Children arel, keen- observers, and though the-ordinary school routine would have been- broken into■■• for one day. yet the chance of comparison that the children would havehad, and the varety, etc., ci stock, dead and alive, that most' of them would have examined', constituted a»» education in itself that* the' members of" the committee should- have been- alive > +o. lam not alone in the opinion that, they erred, no doubt with the best in--tention. but their view was too circum- - scribed.—l am, etc. PARENT.
