FARM INSTRUCTION FOR BOYS.
The final visit for 1920 to the Waimate West Demonstration Farm was made by the pupils of the Manaia State School's agriculture and dairy work olass on Tuesday. December 14. An excellent practical lesson was given by | Mr J. Dakers, the manager, on the Value of cow-testing, notes being given fco show the comparative values q£ various cows. Then two cows were' milked to show the boys how to weigh the milk yield each 'milking by ma-! chmery, the necessity for careful weighing being amply demonstrates."' tJetore leaving the class' was shown over the various lucerne plots, and also the young mangolds, the latter proving very interesting in view of the mangold competition at present being carried out among the various schools.
