Ta& further increase in the price of gas announced by the Auckland Gas Co. was discussed at a mating of the Auckland Gae Employees' Union, it was decided to make enquiries ot the Board of Trade as to whether, the present price of coal warranted the increased charge. The Labour Representation Committee has decided to protest against the increase. LIMITING THE SPEED OF^MOTORS TIMARU, Oct. 14. •At the Magistrate's Court, Mr Mosley, S.M., gave reserved decision in a prosecution under a borough by-law in force since 1906 limiting the speed of motor cars to 10 miles an hour within It c 5°? 0U8h- Mr Mosley agreed with the defence, and on certain Supreme Court decisions declared the by-law invalid, as it was unreasonable, in that it faxed a uniform speed for all streets and all hours of the day
