Several I others fetched over 100 guineas. : Two-year-old heifers were in particularly keen demand, the 20 submitted averi aging 101 guineas. Countess was pur- : chased by Bert Luxton, of Omata ,for 220 guineas, which is eaid to be a record for a fc-yearold heifer. Miro's Blossom felL to Mr J. H. Street, of j Bell Block,, at 165 guineas, whilst Mr .Luxton secured. Harmony Girl for 155> guineas, S. J. Button," of Waitoitoi, paid 130 guinea* each for Miro's Ruby and Mira. Indeed, a feature of the sale was the fact that the bulk of thecattle are remaining in Taranaki. The 14 yearling heifers averaged over 52: guineas, top price being 97 guineas The 6-year-old bull, Miro Meadows" tetar, realised 120. guineas, going to S. McDonald, of Kakaramea, whilst his 2yearrold son, Miro Meadow's' Squire was secured by Mr H. Hodge, Alton, for 150 guineas. The six yearlings average 55" guineas, Riverlea's Star, l*.
