Five thousand men are unemployed, and 80,000 tons of shipping are idle at Sydney. ■ The wharf laborers have asked the Federal Government for a sustenance allowance while the strike continues. MELBOURNE, Jan. 7. The marine stewards and pantrymen have decided to support the decision of the Sydney branch. i
