ISLAND OF MAURITIUS
DURBAN, Nov. 5. Sir Hesketh Bell, Governor of Mauritius, interviewed, said that the question of the retrocession of Mauritius to France had been definitely settled. The Island would remain a British possession. Ninety per cent, of the inhabitants had no desire whatever for a change of flag. It is estimated that the Mauritius sugar eron for the season will total 260,000 tons."
