T HE GRAND, TO-NIGHT. JACK PICKFQRD. To-night, at the Grand*, the paramount Corporation present Jack Pickford and Louise Huff in "Mile-a-Minute Kendall," one of the sweetest stories ever filmed. It is a story of a good-for-nothing youth who becomes a great inventor. In the strength of the love of a noble girl he rose to the height of his manhood, and his youth, bra-ins and wealth were no longer a mockery. Another chapter of the popular serial, "The Eagle's Eye," will be shown. OPERA HOUSE—TO-NIGHT. REX BEACH'S "THE BRAND." To-night at the Opera House the screening will take place of "The Brand," Rex Beach's great drama of Alaska, which is augmented by the presence of beautiful Kay Laurell in the caste. This young girl, whose dramatic career consisted of being one of the beauties of the famous Ziegfeld Follies, made her screen debut in "The Brand." The author found his inspiration among the men of the still untamed North-west, primitive and emotional, but strong in character. The other two parts are taken by Kay Laurel and Robert McKim: The actress is asked for variety and depth of feeling that would tax the experience of the foremost screen emotional star. Robert McKim, as a crooked gambler- i actor, fills the part in every particular. ! The supporting picture will be Pathe's latest Gazette. . * EMELIE POLINI SEASON. In Emelie Polini Messrs J. and N. Tait are presenting to us a groat actress who took Australia by storm, and was recognised by critics there as one of the finest artists. She specialises in the phychological type of play, and lives in her parts with an art which grips and thrills. In "Eyes of Youth" Miss Polini is seen in the role of Gina Ashling. The second production will be "De Luxe Annie/ a play full of mystery and thrills. "De Luxe Annie" has many novel touches, and is full of interest from curtain rise to curtain fall. Miss Polini is supported by a big cast of favorites, including Miss Olive Wilton Esther Mitchell, and Messrs A. E. Greenaway, John de JLtfieey, George Chalmers, S. A. Fitzgerald, and others. Of the newcomers, Miss Georgia Harvey is a clever character actress hailing from Canada, and Mr Harmon Lee is a noted American actor. The play itself is. of novel oonstruetion, the settings being unique, and altogether away from the ordinary run of American plays. Reserve your seats at P. T. Donnelly and Co.V KAPONGA PICTURES.
