MEETING OF TARANAKI

EXECUTIVE

A meeting of the Executive Committee of the Taranaki Bowling Centre was held yesterday. A letter was received from 'the Avon Club Stratford, applying for affiliation to the centre. Same was approved, subject to rules being approved by the Dominion Bowling Association. At the instance of Stratford it was decided to call a meeting at Stratford for September 25 of delegates of all sports bodies and local clubs in Taranaki, with a view to bringing about a universal Saturday half-holiday. The meeting decided to favor centralisation at Wellington of Dominion management.

Mr McMillan suggested that the centre endeavor to arrange for interprovincial matches on similar lines to representative football games. Mr McMillan said the centre could invite bowlers willing to travel to Auckland say this coming season, to send in their names, and from that list selectors, who would have to be appointed, would choose the representative rinks. This was approved, and it was agreed that the representative team should be limited to six rinks, and that three selectors be appointed, one from each division.
