VICTORY OAKS.

A large number of the public then wended their way to the tower grounds where Lieut. Laurent and the Mayor each planted a victory oak tree under the supervision of Mr Lay, custodian ot the Park Both trees were declared by the public to have been truly planted, and cheers were given for Lieut. Laurent and the Mayor.
