WELLINGTON, June 13. The Conciliation Commissioner stated to-day that in order to remove, if possible, the deadlock that has arisen concerning the Manawatu flaxmil] employees' choice of a military defaulter as delegate to the conference with the employers, he had invited the Employers' Association and the Employees' Union to appoint three delegates-each to meet him at Palmerston. on Tuesday to discuss the dispute.

The Commissioner reports that at the Palmerston North sittings a complete agreement has been reached between the Painters' Union and the employers in the Manawatu district. Wages have been fixed at Is 7§d per hour, With a bonus of 2£d per hour. The overtime rate Las been raised to time and a half, and slightly increased pay has been granted apprentices.
