GENERAL LABORERS.

TIMARTJ, June 13. The Conciliation Council (Mr Hagger presiding) dealt with the general laborers' request for increased pay. After discussion it was decided to reconament to the court that permanent men employed by local bodies be paid £3 8s Brl per week (Is Cfd per hour); contractors' and builders' men, Is 7^d. It the former have broken time, then Is 7£d per hour. In both cases 2s to be increased to 3s 4d per day extra will be paid for work away from home. Overtime is to be at the i~ate of time and a half.
