SOLVING THE HOUSING PROBLEM.

A BIG SAYING OF DOMINION TIMBER.

In addition to the Government and public interest taken in the conservation of our Dominion timbers, it is n.°* generally known to what very considerable extent this conservation is 7,®™S secured by the • perfecting of ■ Konka" concrete sheet building construction. In the early history of' the new article progress was naturally slow, but the perfecting of the system soon opened the eyes of the building trade to the fact that a very simple, durable building material had been patented. As a result architects and builders are now using "Konka" freely with results far superior to that or timber and far less costly than brick or full concrete, and yet giving the similar results in permanence and low maintenance. It will no doubt be a surprise to many to know that sales have recently increased over 100 per cent, and that already considerably over 500,000 feet of" "Konka" have been used in Wanganui and district alone, so conserving that quantity of clean timber, and yet giving better results. Applications from all parts of the Dominion are pouring into Messrs Bassett and Co., Ltd., Wanganui—the Dominion manufacturers for the patentee, for information regarding "Konka," while the Government is also interesting itself in the matter, and has already called for tenders for construction in "Konka."
