NEW SCALE OF SALARIES.

(EY TELEGRAPH—PRESS ASSOCIATION.) "WELLIiNGiON, June 2. The new scale of salaries, and increments tor the clerical division of the public service has been gazetted. It replaces the old scale in the third schedule of the Public Service Act, 1912. Under the old scale the service was divided into eight classes. Under the new scale there are seven classes. Details of the new scales are; Special class (new), £650 to .£750 by two increments of £50; class I, £550 to £GOO by one in-r crement; class 11., £475 to £SUO by one increment; class 111, £425 to £450 by one increment; class IV, £375 to £400 bygone increment; class V, £315 to £350 by one increment of £15 and one of £20; class VI, £240 to £300 by. three increments of £20; class VII, £65 to £95 by increments of £25, £20\ £25, £15 to £180; thereafter to £270 by increments of £20, with efficiency bars at £180 and £220
