HALL SOCIETY.
i The adjourned annual general meeting of subscribers to the hall was^ held on Tuesday afternoon, when there was a good attendance. Mr J. Conaglen presided, and placed the financial position of the hall before the meeting. After considerable' discussion it was decided to make an effort to raise £100 by subscriptions, the money to be spent on painting, repairs and necessary sanitation. £53 was raised in the room,. . The following committee was elected: Messrs Mason, Riley^ J. Pettigrew, J. Conaglen, junr., J. Tosland, Renton and J. Stevenson. At a committee meeting held subsequently, -Mr Riley was elected .chairman, and Mr Jas. Conaglen, jufir., secretary, and Messrs J. Stevenson, Conaglen and Mason were appointed to canvas for subscriptions. . SOLDIERS' MEMORIAL. After the above meeting the proposed memorial to fallen soldiers was discussed, and it was decided to fall in with the scheme to erect one for the whole county at Opunake, and also to erect one in the school grounds in honor of the old Pihama school boys who have fallen. ; •
