The rainfall on Saturday night last was extraordinarily heavy. .At Tokaora 2.09 in. was registered; one gauge in Hawera got about two and a quarter inches, and the record was incomplete, for the water was overrunning. Another record was three inches, but this was not accepted as accurate. At Eltham the fall was 2.65. It is clear that the fall was heavy, and it has done an immense amount of good. INFLUENZA ON TRANSPORTS. Relatives and friends of soldiers embarking should see that the boys have "Fluenzol," an absolute safeguard Against harmful microbes, external or internal; also invaluable as a gargle, •mouth wash, or dentifrice.
