THE WEATHER.
THURSDAY, MARCH 20. Tha Dominion Meteorologist telegraphed to-day as follows:—The indications are for northerly winds gtrmig to gale; the weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with rain following; the barometer has a falling tendency; sea rough; tides good.

It has been found that owing to unforseen circumstances, Professor Nichols, who was advertised to speak on the question of prohibition, is unable to visit Hawera. It is now notified that the Rev. Father Cronin will deliver an address in the Opera House next Tuesc day. Father Cronin recently spoke to an audience of 9000 people in Wellington.
The Manawatu Times states that Mr J. R. Corrigan, of Hawera, has been elected a new member of the Manawatu A. and P. Society.
