DISTRESSING ACCIDENT.

Our Eltham correspondent reports: A very distressing accident happened to Miss G. Rogers, daughter of Mr L. 1 Rogers, of the Farmers' Co-op, staff, on Saturday. She was driving to town, and the horse bolted as soon as she was seated in the gig, with the result that she was unable to clear the gate post leading on to the Eltham road. Miss Rogers was thrown heavily to the ground, and it is feared that her spine is badly injured. Dr Cooper was called ] in, and Dr MacDiarmid was also sent for. At the time of writing the young lady's condition is atill critical. Miss Rogers is of a bright disposition, and a very fine horsewoman, and the news of the accident came as a great blow to her many friends.
