REGULATION OF EMIGRATION

-SMALL HOLDINGS FOR SOLDIERS

(Received May 15, 11.30 a.m.) LONDON, May 14. Mr Long's Bill dealing with emigration provides for the issue of passage''bookers' licenses under a bond for £2500, prohibits them from receiving commission or remuneration from intending passengers, and forbids them to supply information relating to emigration except that supplied by Government departments or Overseas Governments. It also prohibits emigration ■societies from supplying information without the central * authority's approval.

The House of Commons read a second time the Soldiers' Small Holdings Bill ior purchasing 60,000 acres in England and 20.000 in Scotland for discharged soldiers after the war. —Aus.N.Z. Cable Assn.
