THE SEDITION SENTENCES.
TIMARU, May 13. The Timaru Borough' Council to-night passed the following resolution, on <the motion of the Mayor (Mr James Maling): "That this council, having regard to all the circumstances of the case, urges the Government to grant (remission of the sentences pasised on Messrs Langley, Flood and Hunter, and would represent to the Government that 'it considers that the law, having demonstrated its power, will now be best served by tempering justice with mercy."
