The Government Meteorologist telegraphed, to-day as follows:—The indica_ tions are for variable and strong breezes but moderate to strong south-east winds prevailing and freshening; weather appears likely to be cloudy and unsettled, with rain following; barometer falling, but rising after 10 hours; sea rough; tides moderate.
