CHRISTCHURCH, March 8. A man named Charles Ericson was admitted to the hospital this morning, supposed to be suffering from the effects of chlorodyne poisoning. He died this:.afternoon. ■ -, WANGANUI, March 8. John Hood was drowned yesterday as the result of a boating accident off Kai Iwi beach, near Wanganui. Deceased and several natives went out fishing. On the return the boat capszed in the surf. The natives scrambled ashore, when it was found deceased was missing. The. body was recovered shortly. afterwards. Deceased was born in Wanganui sixty years ago, and was a very well-known wheelwright.
