DISTRICT MEDICAL BOARDS

TARANAKI SITTINGS

The No. 1 Wellington District Medical Board (Lieut.-Colonels Lindsay and Jennings) will conduct an examination of recruits in the Taranaki district next week, commencing at New Plymouth 911 Monday, the 28 th inst. They will be in Hawera to examine recruits on the 29th and 30th inst. Stratford will be visited on Thursday, the 31st inst. About 200 recruits have been _warned to report themselves for examination on the dates mentioned. During their last visit to Taranaki the No. 3 Wellington District Medical Board (Lieut.-Colonels Fulton and Guthrie) examined 189 recruits at New Plymouth and Hawera. Of the number examined, 5S were classed as fit for active service, 130 were classed C 2 (fit for home service), and one was declared to be totally unfit. Of the men examined, 67 were farmers or farm hands.
