LONDON, Oct. 9. General Sir Douglas Haig reports: We gained ground north of the1 Stuff redoubt, inflicting hsavy losses. ¥c entered enemy trenchesi south of Arras.
Our artillery dispersed the enemy in the neighborhood of Le Transloy. 'The Germans rushed a crater scutheasti of Souchezj but were bloodily ejected.
PARIS, Oct. 10.
A communique states: There are artillery duels in the Parleux-Belloy-Denie-court regions. -The enemy's atack eastward of Rancourt was . epulsed with grenades. Our machine-guiis di.qx-rsed a reconnaissance north-eastward of Bouchavesnes.
