LONDON, Oct. 9. General Sir Douglas Haig reports: We gained ground north of the1 Stuff redoubt, inflicting hsavy losses. ¥c entered enemy trenchesi south of Arras.
Our artillery dispersed the enemy in the neighborhood of Le Transloy. 'The Germans rushed a crater scutheasti of Souchezj but were bloodily ejected.
PARIS, Oct. 10.
