WEDDING.

SUTTON—HOLMES

A quiet wedding was solemnised at St. Barnabas' Church, Opunake, by the Rev. 0. M. Stent, when Lance-Cbrporal W. H. Sutton, second son of the late Mr W. Sutton, was married to Christina Eve, second daughter of Mr and Mrs D. M. Holmes, Pihama. The bride was neatly attired in a navy costume, with black hat with cerise feather, and was attended by Misses Sutton and 0. C. Holmes as bridesmaids, who were also in navy military costumes, with hats to match. They carried white Prayer Books, gifts of the bride, and wore gold brooches, gifts of the bridegroom. The bridegroom was attended by Privates J. Duncan and B. Cook. After the ceremony the wedding party was entertained at tea at the home of the bride's parents. The happy couple lei t amid showers of rice and good wishes for the South Island, where tjie honeymoon is being spent.
