FARMERS" CO-OP. SOCIETY'S REPORT. At Lake Road, Hawera, on Friday, July 16, we held a clearing sale ot Messrs Turner Bros.' live and dead stock. There was a large attendance and competition keen throughout W c quote:—The best dairy cows sold at from £13 to £16 10s, others £7 10s to £1 9 15s, aged cows £5 to £t os, empty cows £4 15s- to £6, heifers, springing, £5 15s to £7; horses, £< 10s to £22 10s; heifer calves, 325; steers, calves, good £2 13s; and large quantity of sundries sold at late rates. At Mr J. Wallis' Riyerlea clearing sale on Saturday, there was a good attendance of buyers, and a successful sals was held, Best dairy cows soiu at from £10 to £11 15s, others £6 10s to £9 10s; heifers, £6 to £7 7s 6d. Pigs: Breeding sows sold at £5 ss, store pigs to £1 Ba. On Monday, July 19, at Omuturangi Road, Otakeho. we held a clearing sale of Mr W. Walker's live and dead stock. There was a very large muster of buyers ,and high prices were realised. The best dairy cows sold at from £13 to £17 10s,'others £9 10s to £12 10s, cows to calve _iv September £6 10s to £9 weaners £1 12s", soringing heifers £5 2s 6d to £7 10s; horses, £18 5s to £22. At Mr W. Gardner's (Riverlea) clearing :sale on Tuesday, July 20, there was a good attendance, and a very satisfactory sale was held. The dairy cows were a choice lot and competition was keen. Best dairy cows sold at from £13 to £15, others £6 5s to £12 10s, the whole herd averaging £10 15s. On account of the very wet day Mr J. Horgan',B <Te Kiri) sale was postponed last Wedhesday. The whole of his dairy herd will be sold at the Opunake yards on Monday next. At Hawera yards on Thursday there was a large entry of sheep and cattle. The advertised breeding ewes from Messrs Larcom and Pratt, the bulk of them being 6-tooth, there being 1040 in the line, realised 29s each. We ouote: Ewes in lamb 20s od to 30s, fat wethers 27s 6d, ewes 39s 3d to 24s •<d, fat hoggets (good) 20s 4d, store i hoggets lis to 15s, rams 19s to 32s 6d. At Hastings Road, Mangatoki, on Friday, we held a clearing sale of Mr J. F. Catley's live and dead stock. There was a large attendance. The cows were in low condition, but sold exceptionally well The best cows sold at from £13 to £15, others £8 10s to £12. later carvers £6 to £8. aged andempty £4 to £6, bulls £7 to £9, weaners 16s to 395, store pigs 25s to 40s, weaners los to 20s
