David Robertson, who assisted to raise money at Petone for the Trentham hospital, stated that when he interviewed Surgeon-Mtijor Fyft'e there, that officer was most condemnatory of the action of the authorities regarding hospital equipment. He said many of the cases sent to Wellington could be treated at Trentham if there was proper equipment there. Justice Hosking announced that the Public Works 'Department advised that the area of. original camp was five acres and hutment area 31 acres Dr Delatour, continuing his ev< dence, produced a diagram to support his contention that tents Had been pitched over abandoned latrines.
