"CINDERELLA."

At Cole and Donnelly's at 8 o'clock to-morrow morning, the box plan will be opened for the first and only production of J. C. Williamson's gorgeously mounted pantomime "Cinderella,* which is tq be staged here on Monday night next. Anticipating the same large- | demand for seats which has happened in other, centres where "Cinderella"" has been played, the management will' have a staff of ushers in attendance at the box office from an early hour totorm a queue. Quite a number of complications had to* be overcome before Mr Barry Lupmo could be released from his. London engagements this year, and it was only a large sum of money whichfinally induced his English manager to> release him. The amount paid by J C Williamson, Ltd., to effect this result added to Mr. Lupino's usual salary makes the young comedian the largest salaried artist who has ever toured NewZealand. The pantomime is particularly strong m comedy, as in addition, to^ the irresistible Barry I >-.|iino, the ra«t' also includes Mr Arthur Stagnant ' "London's most popular Dame, Mt Jack a noted English comedian, and Mr Leslie Gaze, of Chocolate Soldier" fame. Great interest centres in the first appearance oF the fascinating Young Drury Lane ;'principal boy," Miss Minnie Love, and m the reappearance of Miss Dolly Castles. Among the eighteen magnificent scenes-one that always arouses, a deal or enthusiasm is the final patriotic march, in which New Zealand is represented by a number of pretty Maori gjrls, and then Scotland, Ireland Canada, France, Russia, Australasia^ and Belgium, march down a long staircase stretching from the back of the stage right down to the footlights. Thegallant little Belgians are always greeted with loud cheers, and great excitement is created when a huge Union Jack is displayed breaking into a blaze of light as "Britannia" (Miss Ceh'a SKW lingslings "Figtoins for theMotherland." "Cinderella" i s attracting recqrd audiences in Wellington. Altogether there are 150 people concerned' in the production c £ the pantomime.
