OPERA HOUSE PICTURES.
The star picture at the Opera House last night was one to which a good deal » ft mw-r^J *tt*c! ie£ owing to the title, On His Majesty's Service," and the announcement that it would introduce a phase of the present war with which everyone is mow or less familiar—the German spy system. The story was certainly a sensational one, and the un^ folding of the plot laid bare the smooth taced Germans in England, when war broke out, scheming to blow up a* bridge-and wreck a train full of troops on their way to the seaboard to embark for the Continent. But the secret service of Britain was too well informed of their doings, and the plot failed; instead1 of the bridge beinc blown up, che bomb laid for the pu£ pose is discovered in time and A thrown into the boat in which the Germans are, and judging by the.eSplosion which followed, the occupants would give tu> more trouble in this worlds The supporting numbers were- also r good, including a most laughable Keystone. Music of the best was supplied by the Lyric Orchestra. The programme will be repeated this evening.
