INTERNED ENEMY
(Received May 28„ "10;30 a.m.) SYDNEY, May .28. Private Wintle, wounded at the Dardanelles, resides at Toioga Bay.
MELBOURNE, May 28. In the Assembly., during discussion of the Temporary Restriction Bill, the Premier said there seemed to be general agreement that some curtailment of hotel hours was required. If hours were curtailed peojile should be unable to get drunk elsewhere when hotels were closed, and the Government therefore would submit an amendment prohibiting anyone except the occupier, his family, and servants drinking on unlicensed premises between 9.30 at night and 9 in the morning. The committee of enquiry regarding the Lithgow small arms factory output advocates a second shift. No difficulty is anticipated in obtaining the labor required, and the works had sufficient steel to enable them to double the output for a year without exhausting the stock. The committee has been assured that, iecognising the national importance, Mr Ready will assist the Government in every possible way. In the Senate, Mr Pearce stated tbat 2940 enemy subjects were interned in Australia..
