PATRIOTIC COMMITTEES' CONFERENCE.

WELLINGTON, May 27. At a committee sitting of the conference of Mayors and Patriotic Committee officials it was resolved that tie conference would agree that the different Patriotic Committees should federate and that the delegates should ask their cotnmittees to consider the advisability of establishing a national scheme. A committee was appointed to' bring down regulations for consideration at next conference.

It was also resolved that thje .regulations dealing with the examination of invalided soldiers returning to the Dominion should he rigidly enforced. Several principles for controlling the funds were adopted, and it was finally resolved that the conference shonld urge on the Government the necessity for amending the Defence Act to provide more liberally for soldiers and their dependents.
