SEWING GUILD

lc was arranged that the ladies should divide into taree groups in different parts of the town, and rooms were offered for sewing in by Mrs Wilson, ChiseJiurst: Mrs Grimstone, Bank of Aew Zealand; and Mrs H. Jenkins King Edward street.

Machines" were freely offered, also many weekly contributions to the fund and the sum of £6 18s 6d was sub-' scribed, in the room.

The following officers were elected :-t~ President, Mrs B. Divtej- vice-presi-dent, Mrs W. D. Ross; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mrs A. A. Stewart'; committee, Mesdames McKinnon, Weir, Carncross, Prideaux, and Cooper. It was decided to get to work as soon as possible, the committee to select material and see to cutting out and distributing to the various rooms.

PRESENTATIONS

He also thanked them for the presentations, and assured them that they were much appreciated by himself and Mrs Leatham. Other speeches were made, and toasts given, and the sinsing of Auld Lane; Syne brought a very pleasant evening to a close.
