TROTTING CLUB.

AN ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING. The meeting convened, for Wednesday, evening at iur Turtoa's office, far the purpose of considering, the advisability of re-forming the Yvaimate Trotting Club was attended by. fully fifty persons, who came from all. the surrounding districts, Stratford being weli represented. Mr E. Naider was voted to the chair., and briefly explained, the objects, of the meeting.. After some discussion as to, whether it would be better to re-form the old club or form a new one, the former idea was adopted on the motion of Mr R. Morrissey, seconded by Mr J). Turton. • All in the room gave in their names as members, and others who were not present were enrolled,. bringing, the membership up to seventy-three. The subscription was., fixed at £1, and most of tnose in attendance showed their faith in the movement, by. paying the first year's dues, •The Chairman expressed the opinion chat there would be no diffieultv in securing a membership of fully. 209 i On the motion of Mr Mor.rissey,_ seconded by Mr W. J. Bradford, the. election of'officers was left over until Tuesday next. —It was also decided to apjpint the committee -and stewards at that meeting. Considerable discussion ensued as to the advisableness or otherwise of holding a meeting this year, it being urged on the one hand that it would be better to wait till February, 1916, and make a third day in "conjunction with the Egmont Racing Club; on the other, the advantages ©f striking the iron whilst hot wee advocated. —To test the matter, Mr Morrissey moved' that no meeting be held this year.—An amendment by Mr J. R. Corrigan, seconded by Mr Turton^-jn favor of holding a meeting prior to the 31st of Jnly, was carried almost unonimonsly.—The date ■O-3-? subsequently fixed for the 28th of Ju Ty.
