OTAKEHO TENNIS CLUB
(From a Correspondent.)
The annual meeting of the Otakeho Temr-s dub was held in the hall on Saturday night, there being rather a small number present. The balancesheet showed receipts to be £70 2s 6d, expenditure £95 7s 6d, leaving a debit balance of £25 ss. As £20 of" this had been borrowed, and is not due for some time, -only £5 os is required to pay off the other small debts. This was considered very satisfactory, seeing that it was the club's first year. The following were elected officers for the coming year: Patron, Mr. C. A. Wilkinson, M.P.; president, Mr. H. J. Eaves; vice-presidents, Messrs O'M Young, E. Burke. W. H. Le Fleming, T. Herbert, T. W. Dill, W.' H. Reynolds, T. Shearer, R. Jones, J. Young, J. Joyce, N. Tei'awhiti, and J. Pint; general committee. Misses Lindsay and SntoH. Messrs H. J. Eaves, L. Mackie, H. Wills, and W. Davidson, with power to add; secretary, T,. Mackie; assistant secretary, H. Wills; auditor; Mr. F. Jackson.
It was decided that the subscription be the same as last year, namely, IQs for men and 5s for ladies.
Several rules were drawn-nip.-relat-ing to members with subscriptions in arrears, payment of subs, for the coming yeqr, encouragement for beginners, etc. It is to be hoped that all members will get in a lot of practice, and make it passible to rnn a junior as well as a senior team. It was decided to open the season on November 7th. ' A hearty vote of thanks to. last year's officials concluded the meeting.
