OPERA HOUSE PICTURES

J^XsP^^^^ i^ management -'• A- e-' \° tld s Pictures for presenting nothing but.first-class programmes was well sustained on Tuesday night with a new collection, which should have satisfied even the most fastidious.. For instance, .nothing could have 'been more: grilling than the drama "Protea the Second," a powerful story surrounding the adventures of. & woman detective, and her right-hand assistant "Tommy," It was one of the best pictures of its class seen here, admirably acted and full of intense interest throughout the four parts. The picture was thoroughly appreciated, and so were the supporting films, which included ;ja remarkably good drama in which a little boy played the leading part. The^ picture showing the use of dynamite in; agriculture in America was instructive, while the ever popular Pathe Gazette illustrated passing events in Europe. The comic element was well provided in the Keystone subject, ' 'The: Chicken Chaser,'' which caused .much merriment. Good music was supplied by the Lyric Symphony Orchestra, which: added to the enjoyment of the evening. To-night will be the last opportunity for seeing this excellent programme.
