ENTERTAINMENTS.

OPERA HOUSE PICTURES

An attractive programme was presented by the management of : the World's Pictures at the Opera Rouse on Wednesday evening, and with the excellent music of the Lyric Symphony Orchestra was thoroughly enjoyed. The programme comprised "two thrilling dramag entitled "The Plot of India's Hillmen" and "The Tiger." Both pictures at once gripped the attention of the audience, who showed * their appreciation by friequ^nt applause. 'In "The Tiger" drama some extraordinary situations were shown^ including a sensational scene in a tiger's cage. One of the best/ scenic films seen in Hawera was that showing the beauties of Venice. It wa© certainly a delightful picture. The Pathe English Gazette w-as an educative number/ and pleased everybody. The picture giving some happenings during the Anniversary Day celebrations in Wellington had considerable interest. Indeed, it :ras very instructive. The comic studies were funnier than ever, and "Wiffles and the African Potentate" and "The Autocrat of Flap-Jack Junction" caused much merriment. The programme, which for all-round excellence would be hard to beat^ will be repeated to-night.
