AMENDMENT OBJECTED TO.

BY TELEGRAPH—PRESS.ASSOCIATION. AUCKLAND, Dec. 8. An amendment made' by the Legislative Council to sectwh 22 of the Municipal Corporation Act Amendment, limiting the powers of the Auckland City Council in the matter of running motor-buses, meets with strong opposition from the City Council. A special meeting was held to consider the position, and the following resolution was carried: "That this Council views with alarm the amendment made by the Legislative Council to section 22 of the Municipal Corporations Amendment Bill, whereby the Auckland City Council is prohibited from undertaking motor vehicle services, and resolves to telegraph to Auckland city and the provincial members of the House of Representatives strongly urging them to use their, utmost endeavors to defeat the clause when it- comes before the Lower House."
